Chapter 7 THE YAHWEH FACTOR

In the last chapter we intimated that if the hero-disciple has the courage to face all the archetypes on the path, as they present themselves to him/her one by one, then with perseverance, tenacity and grit the hero should have all the strength to overcome such from their own inner resources. But it was hinted that there might be another factor that could seek to wreck their venture, that would not want to see them succeed. A factor outside the realm of Humanity’s own shadow. Whereas the creation of life-forms on various astral planes generally follow the Cosmic laws of harmony, in line with the Cosmos’ plan of evolution for the Universe, the fact is that life on the material plane of this Earth is not perfect, that it might have been spoiled by a malevolent spirit that interfered with the process of creation. This spirit has been known variously as Jehovah, Yahweh, or Yaldaboath. This aspect of creation has been a puzzle to Mystics for centuries and there has been much debate as to the actuality, mythology or illusion of this aspect of creation. It is an aspect where the hero will definitely need Divine help to overcome. Whereas the hero is expected to succeed on their path largely without help when dealing with the archetypes within the Human collective consciousness on all its levels, the spiritual powers that are overshadowing the progress of the hero will definitely intervene to negate the works of this outside malevolent entity. But the hero is still expected to ask for that help. Free will is a signature for the evolution of this particular Universe.

Man is probably the most intelligent of all species on this Planet. And yet Man’s evolutionary progress has been continually arrested, diverted, and corrupted by a seemingly inbuilt tendency to self-destruct. Negative emotions such as avarice, pride, lust, addiction, hate and a host of others all seemingly stem from four cardinal emotions of fear, anger, guilt and grief with fear probably being THE primary negative emotion. In the animal world there is a certain amount of ‘healthy’ fear coupled with the instinct for survival. But it is like having respect for one’s potential adversary. But not the level of fear that Man has had to contend with and not been able to manage, engendering as secondary emotions all those following from such as stated above. Negative emotions that radiate out from us into the etheric and lower astral plane providing food for vampiristic entities on those planes that live on Humanity’s malaise. Where did they come from? What is controlling them?

We will now look at various works and traditions that have attempted to define the nature of evil in the World and what is meant by ‘devil’. Most of these deal with the mistaken creation of a spiritual entity that thought of itself as the supreme god. Surprisingly, one tradition actually suggests that the mistake was due to a fallen Aeon from the Pleroma that eventually repented and became the Christ-Spirit.
